"In the 1980s my grandfather came to Chicago from Poland and opened a Jewish deli on the North side. His legacy inspired us to open Helfeld's in the heart of Wicker Park, so we named our deli after him - to honor his life and the journey of our family.

 

Helfeld's Delicatessen & Catering is a family-owned and operated business. The recipes at our New York style Jewish deli come from my grandparents, and mom. We bring you traditional, homemade, Jewish staples: hand-cut lox & bagels, the best chicken matzoh ball soup you've ever tasted, homemade knishes, noodle kugel, mouthwatering sandwiches, and much more! 


We've been eating good food our whole lives, and now we want to share our meals with you! We hope to see you soon."
